Artist Bio
All About Bill QB Zeng
Born and raised in Guangzhou, educated and worked in Hong Kong, Western Australia and Canada, Bill QB Zeng is an artist and calligrapher, poet and writer, and director based in Vancouver, Canada. He started to learn sketch and calligraphy when he was 6-years old. In the 1970s, he was admitted to the art class of the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace, taught by art instructors such as Prof. Yang Zhiguang, Ou Yang, Wu Qizhong, Chen Yanning, Shan Baiqin and other well-known Chinese painters and artists. At the age of 15, he was exceptionally recommended by his high school to apply for the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and later was awarded the Guangzhou Yu Cai School Professional Diploma in Interior Design. He loves Chinese culture and arts, enthusiastic about the public fundraising programs with his art works. Since 2009, many joint and solo art exhibitions have been held in various cultural and art centers and galleries in Greater Vancouver. Dozens of art works have been collected by professional institutions and celebrities. He is currently awarded as a senior calligrapher and painter by the networks of “Chinese Poetry, art and Calligraphy”, a poet writer signed by “Classic Literature”, and an editorial board member of “Peninsula Poetry”.
From 2007 to 2009, he was elected as a director of Burnaby Arts Council, Canada; in 2013, he joined the Vancouver Chinese Artists Association, Canada; from 2014 to 2016, he was the Chairman of the board at Vancouver Chinese Community Library Service Association in Canada. Since 2017, he has served as the vice president of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Society of Richmond, resident arts group of Richmond Cultural Centre in City of Richmond, Canada and joined the Chinese Canadian Writers’ Association in 2021. He was also qualified as the national first-class artsit in China in 2022.
